Eerily prescient, the 1990 play, Queen Salmon, by Human Nature Theater, told the saga of the salmon, weaving both the fish’ natural history as well as the integral relation the species has had with human beings. The play was a grand production (starting with virtually the whole cast finning across the stage in iridescent salmon costumes) music, song and dance numbers, and went on the road, traveling three times up and down the West Coast to rave reviews.
